The scammer and victim add items to the trade window.

The victim accepts the first stage of the trade.

The scammer activates the script, which locally "freezes" the trade window on the victim's device. The scammer's own screen, however, remains active.

The scammer removes their high-value items and replaces them with low-value items (or nothing at all).

Unaware that the trade has changed, the victim accepts the final trade, resulting in them giving away their valuable items for little to no return.
